I'm no stranger to bringing people together.
That's who I am — who I've always had to be.
I come from a family of immigrants, who faced housing insecurity and economic instability.
Growing up in the West Valley, public schools gave me the opportunity to thrive, becoming the first in my family to graduate from college. After earning my Bachelor's at Yale University, I went on to earn Master's degrees at Duke Divinity School and UCLA School of Law, with a third on the way from the Haas School of Business at UC Berkeley.
After losing our home and small business during the Great Recession, I learned how to use my voice to speak out on the issues impacting my community. My service led me to a career in policy and advocacy at the local, state, and national level.
In 2020, I ran for Campbell City Council, winning a historic election and becoming the first Latino Mayor in Campbell's history. I earned a spot on the Santa Clara Valley Transportation Board of Directors (VTA), quickly rising to board leadership and becoming the youngest Chair in VTA's history. I became known as a consensus builder and pragmatic problem solver, bringing competing interests together to align on concrete policy solutions that make a difference for our community.
That work has included a track record of collaboration across Assembly District 23, from partnerships on homelessness in the West Valley, to transportation solutions for the Peninsula, to bringing state resources into the Coastside and our unincorporated communities.
Now, I'm working to being my experience to the toughest issues facing our state. I've done it before, leading the way on housing, transportation, and climate solutions. As your candidate for State Assembly District 23 in 2028, I make this promise: no one will ever outwork me in representing our communities.
