To achieve climate and energy independence, California must lead the way. This will require fostering innovation while ensuring the progress serves our communities.

That's why I'll:

• Support investment in and scaling of new and emerging green technologies

• Work to stabilize and expand energy markets statewide & nationally and build infrastructure locally, including support for electrification in rural regions such as the South Coast

• Lead the fight for expanding nuclear energy to achieve an abundant climate future for all

I come from a community where many of my classmates were more likely to join a gang than graduate a four-year university — but thanks to the support of my parents and teachers, education was my way out.

As your legislator, I'll draw from those experiences to:

• End the school truancy-to-prison pipeline

• Move away from a fee-based funding mechanism for California courts that furthers inequities and toward more financially sustainable models

• Strengthen state/local collaboration on dangerous roads such as SR 9, 35, and 84

Local public schools gave me the opportunity to write a new story for myself, becoming the first in my family to graduate college. Thanks to incredible public school teachers, I graduated from Yale University and went on to earn advanced degrees from Duke Divinity School and UCLA School of Law, while finishing up my MBA at the Haas School of Business at UC Berkeley.

At the state level, I'll:

• Lead adoption of a 21st Century Master Plan for Education

• Ensure access to Honors, AP, and Advance Math classes as well as participatory civics education

• Use state surpluses to introduce geographical cost-of-living modifiers to Local Control Formula-Funding and additional funding for "dual need" students in any district

I know what it's like to struggle to navigate our healthcare system. Assembly District 23 is home to many of the world's leading health systems, but our healthcare system needs to both work better and more affordably for our residents.

As your Legislator, I will:

• Fight to fund youth mental health and suicide prevention

• Ensure California leads on reducing cost as a barrier to preventative, postpartum, and maternity care

• Work to ensure healthcare and retirement benefits for our hardworking farmworkers

I'm not afraid to take bold stances to support the housing we need for our communities. That's meant being the leading voice in our region on major statewide housing legislation, while also working to ensure added flexibility for each community to implement state mandates. In Campbell, it's also meant slashing red tape by making most permitting ministerial or by-right.

As Assemblymember, I'll:

• Fight to increase housing at all levels of affordability and focus on reforming the 8th RHNA cycle to ensure mandates actually result in the creation of housing

• Support adoption of innovative housing stock such as mass timber to bring down the cost of construction

• Simplify state funding mechanisms to streamline the funding stack and decrease delays for multi-family construction while creating innovative financing mechanisms for ADUs

Assembly District 23 is primarily a rural district, and your next representative needs to know and understand these communities. I've spent time in each of these unique communities, getting to know neighbors by name.

As your Assemblymember, I'll:

• Support not just affordable housing, but also expanded healthcare and universal pensions for the farmworkers who put food on our table, allowing them to retire while supporting their families

• Fund microgrid projects in rural communities like La Honda and more to support electrification and resiliency, building on a successful pilot in Pescadero

• Support local resiliency centers and emergency preparedness efforts to guard against wildfire and flood risk

Our district is one of the most vulnerable in the state to extreme weather, disasters, and climate change. This means partnership from the state level is essential.

That's why I'll fight to:

• Hold AT&T, PG&E, & other utility companies accountable to prepare for emergencies and protect our communities from wildfires and sea level rise

• Make State Routes 9, 35, and 84 safe for our residents by reducing speed limits, adding infrastructure, and increasing enforcement

• Fight for a permanent solution on Vehicle License Fees for San Mateo County to prevent cuts to fire, police, and emergency services

Coming from a family of entrepreneurs, I know how hard it can be to open and maintain a small business in California. That first-hand experience led me to fight to streamline permitting for small businesses in Campbell, as well as work to earn my MBA at the Haas School of Business at UC Berkeley, while making sure our city delivered balanced budgets.

I'll fight to make sure California:

• Maintains adequate reserves for a rainy day while balancing our state budget

• Aligns ongoing funding with ongoing programs, while using bonds to spur construction and development for the highest return on investment

• Remains the wellspring of innovation, particularly for energy and clean tech entrepreneurs

I'm the only leader who's led transportation efforts across our entire region. That's included leading a regional effort to modernize and integrate our public transit systems, as well as convening working meetings to bring resources to Pacifica and Half Moon Bay, as well as to support safety in Woodside, Portola Valley, and our unincorporated communities.

As your representative, I will:

• Fight for a seamlessly integrated regional public transit system, including a California youth transit pass

• Work to modernize and hold accountable transit agencies

• Slow down unsafe traffic, whether speeding on rural State Routes or from unlicensed e-motorcycles
